Pender Island Wedding

Here is a “quick” sneak peek of Theresa and Witek’s wedding on Pender Island. It was so hard to pick just a few as this was such a gorgeous and unique wedding. Not only were the bride and groom stunning but the setting was brilliant as well. Theresa’s family has been on Pender since the late 1800’s (I love that!). Her father used to fly Theresa in his airplane and land on the private airfield seen in some of the photos below. I loved that the backdrop of their wedding had such personal history and meaning to them. Theresa & Witek also happen to be super fun!Β  I was so excited when they were game to jump on the trampoline before dinner πŸ˜‰ Oh, and there was the dancing in the orchard…

Theresa and Witek, thank you so much for having us be a part of your wedding day. I will never forget the magic of it!

A big thanks to Lana Winnichyn for second shooting for me!

Gene and I took Ella to Asia when she was 3.5 months old. I will forever be grateful for the experiences we had there, especially as new parents navigating the waters of “how to be a good parent”. Being immersed in other cultures while we were raw and evolving in our new roles was such a gift. We got to witness over and over again that a “norm” is culturally based and not static, which gave us the courage to challenge assumptions and norms from back home. The biggest one of these for me was integrated community. Everywhere we travelled,…

  • Eric & Melissa – Wedding Photo Gallery – Keri Coles Photography – Victoria, BC

Eric and Melissa got married at the stunning Bear Mountain Resort. Getting married on a golf course held extra significance for the couple as Eric is a pro golfer and the two met on a golf course πŸ˜‰ The day went smooth as silk with tons of laughter and joy. They definitely win the best reception of the year award. Eric, Melissa and their wedding party surprised their guests with an AWESOME choreographed dance number. Eric also did some pretty impressive renditions of the worm and the robot. The love in the room was huge and beautiful. The cherry on…

  • Something about that tutu.

Tutus have never been part of my repertoire. Growing up, I was a horse girl through and through. Which meant that I was usually mucky and smelly. Quite far removed from the delicate loveliness of dance recitals and ballet shoes. So I have never related to the tutu and thus it never occurred to me to put a tutu on a munchkin. But then this little darling showed up wearing one and my heart melted into a little puddle of tutu adoration. Isn’t she scrumptious?

  • Lisa & Nathan’s Wedding

Lisa and Nathan’s wedding was such a perfect blend of elegance, sophistication, intimacy and serenity. They were married at Fairholme Manor which was an ideal location for their small, private wedding. The grounds are gorgeous and the interior of the heritage house is a photographer’s dream. Lisa’s Maid of Honour (and sister) created the brilliant floral arrangements. The reception was at one of my favorite restaurants in town, Camille’s. The food, which is organic and sourced as locally as possible, is to die for. Every bite is a little piece of heaven. Lisa & Nathan, thank you so much for…

  • Organic Islands Festival

It was a fabulous weekend at Organic Islands Festival. There are always lots of great vendors that support and inspire sustainability. The reason I love the festival the most is the incredible speakers that come to share their wealth of knowledge. Percy Schmeiser was the highlight for me at the Festival in 2008.Β Β His story is one to know. He is fighting a battle on our behalf. A battle that’s final outcome will not directly effect his life, but it will effect ours. He is devoting his time, money, life energy and integrity to protect our right to save seeds and…
