This is the second part of Lilie’s debut photoshoot. You can check out her newborn session here. For this one we headed out to Jordan River on a gorgeous morning at the end of October. Lilie’s parents love spending time on the beach and in the waves and I wanted to capture them in their element. It is always so nice to get out of town and head up our gorgeous coast. Eric and Melissa got married at the stunning Bear Mountain Resort. Getting married on a golf course held extra significance for the couple as Eric is a pro golfer and the two met on a golf course 😉 The day went smooth as silk with tons of laughter and joy. They definitely win the best reception of the year award. Eric, Melissa and their wedding party surprised their guests with an AWESOME choreographed dance number. A large anti-Enbridge rally against the Northern Gateway Pipeline happened in Victoria last Sunday. Hundreds turned out to the Legislature lawns before taking to the streets to march to Centennial Square. Once at the square, there was an afternoon full of workshops and panel discussions related to the environment, the energy sector, and effective ways to get involved in the debate. This was a really fun and dear shoot for me. Brianna’s grandmother is an incredibly talented knitter and has made gorgeous sweaters for all the new arrivals in her and her daughters’ lives over the last many years. I flew to Bella Bella yesterday to witness and photograph the Joint Review Panel Hearings being held there for Enbridge’s Northern Gateway Pipeline. Sharing my flight were the panel members as well as Heiltsuk’s high ranking Chief Woyala. The community came to the airport to greet their chief and to stand in solidarity against the pipeline. The demonstration was powerful, respectful, and peaceful. The panel members were taken in a van from the airport into town and over to a resort called Shearwater. I was immediately intrigued when I got a fantastic call from a man named Andrew. He wanted me to go stealth and photograph him proposing to his beautiful (unsuspecting) girlfriend. After the proposal I would come out of hiding to do a photo shoot for a couple hours. He is super romantic and he wanted an over-the-top amazing place for it all to happen.
