Here is a “quick” sneak peek of Theresa and Witek’s wedding on Pender Island. It was so hard to pick just a few as this was such a gorgeous and unique wedding. Not only were the bride and groom stunning but the setting was brilliant as well. Theresa’s family has been on Pender since the late 1800’s (I love that!). Tracy & Jonathon’s wedding was a stunning event held at the Olympic View Golf Course. The course gave the gift of incredible backdrops and we zipped down to Whitty’s Lagoon to get some ocean shots as well. This is part one of a two part series for this scrumptious family. They are avid surfers so part two is going to involve sand, surf and snuggles but we wanted to get some images of the first days at home too. There is something so special about those first couple of weeks of settling in as a family. You enter a cocoon and your entire world exists within the four walls of your house. Hours pass just staring at your baby and nothing feels so rewarding. And the love. Oh the love.
Gene and I took Ella to Asia when she was 3.5 months old. I will forever be grateful for the experiences we had there, especially as new parents navigating the waters of “how to be a good parent”. Being immersed in other cultures while we were raw and evolving in our new roles was such a gift. We got to witness over and over again that a “norm” is culturally based and not static, which gave us the courage to challenge assumptions and norms from back home. I went down and photographed Jon & Roy’s CD Release Party show for their new album “Homes“. The MacPherson Playhouse was packed and the show rocked the house. Everyone was on their feet at the end of the show begging for more. Vince Vaccaro and Mother Mother opened for Jon & Roy. I gotta say…those three bands in one show make Keri a very happy girl 😉
