This is part one of a two part series for this scrumptious family. They are avid surfers so part two is going to involve sand, surf and snuggles but we wanted to get some images of the first days at home too. There is something so special about those first couple of weeks of settling in as a family. You enter a cocoon and your entire world exists within the four walls of your house. Hours pass just staring at your baby and nothing feels so rewarding. And the love. Oh the love.

What an amazing weekend at Rock The Shores! Blue skies, rocking band lineup, incredible crowds; I adore my job so much. I am loving that festivals like Rock the Shores and Rifflandia are bringing bigger names to town. Some of the bands that performed this weekend were Weezer, City and Colour, Sam Roberts, The Sheepdogs, Mother Mother, Awolnation (who rocked my little world), Reignwolf (who’s show I sadly missed but heard excited exclamations about for the rest of the festival), and our home boy Vince Vaccaro. Tessa McLoughlin is a local hero of mine. She possesses not only exceptional vision in regards to arts and community but also the follow through to turn that vision into reality. I recently photographed Rob Kettner of Fernwood Coffee doing his magic. He was fine-tuning his skills and delivery for the Canadian Barista Championship. What a beautiful day it is was for Leanne & Taylor’s wedding! While I tend to fall in love with all my clients, L&T kicked it up a notch by keeping me in stitches all day long.
