A stitch in time.
This was a really fun and dear shoot for me. Brianna’s grandmother is an incredibly talented knitter and has made gorgeous sweaters for all the new arrivals in her and her daughters’ lives over the last many years. I was so touched to receive one when my Ella was born. Hand-made gifts are always the most precious and I think of the creators everytime I use them. The exceedingly lovely Violet
When I arrived at this shoot I was feeling ill and little Violet had skipped her nap so there was concern that things may not run very smoothly. In the end, we both made it through and I am in love with the images that Violet created 😉 She was not her usual smiley self but she was content so the images that resulted have a neat introspective feel to them. I had a great time shooting Lynne and Brendan’s engagement photos. They are such a blast to work with. I’m REALLY excited about shooting their big day coming up at the end of May at Hatley Castle. The castle and grounds are my favorite location to shoot at and with folks as fabulous as these it is sure to be one to remember!

65 Red Roses – a benefit concert for cystic fibrosis
I first heard of Eva through a friend of mine that directed me toward her blog. Eva documented her battle with cystic fibrosis with such heart and such grace that the world fell in love with her. Eva touched so many people and brought such energy and determination to the fight against CF that support has proliferated since her courageous battle came to an end last March. I recently photographed Rob Kettner of Fernwood Coffee doing his magic. He was fine-tuning his skills and delivery for the Canadian Barista Championship.
