ANTI-POP CONSORTIUM

I was pretty excited about heading down to Lucky bar to photograph Anti-Pop Consortium. I had heard lots of great stuff about them and their lyrics and sound are brilliant.Β The show was great but to be honest I was a little distracted by the fact that my camera loved them πŸ˜‰

The first images are of TBA (Truth Becomes Audio) who opened for them. Props to them for giving 100% commitment to their performance. They were a little over-concerned about burning their name into our brains but they were fairly clever and funny about it which made it forgivable.

There are also two random pics. One of the bartender who cut a strip out of the top of his ball cap so his faux hawk could protrude in all its glory (gotta love him for it!) and a second shot of a guy using a Holga to shoot the band (my hero).

So without further adieu…

My good friend Erin came by with her two kids as well as her sister’s two girls to get some photos for Christmas. What a gorgeous group they are! There is never a dull moment when you are photographing a few children together! Sometimes the best solution is to just let them play and have fun! Did I mention I love kids πŸ˜‰ Great seeing you Erin!!

  • The exceedingly lovely Violet

When I arrived at this shoot I was feeling ill and little Violet had skipped her nap so there was concern that things may not run very smoothly. In the end, we both made it through and I am in love with the images that Violet created πŸ˜‰ She was not her usual smiley self but she was content so the images that resulted have a neat introspective feel to them. Thank you once again, Violet, for making my day brighter. She has a habit of doing that. You can check out another day she made my day brighter here….

  • Behind the scenes of the Bella Bella trip.

My trip to Bella Bella involved beautiful landscapes, good friends, small world run-ins, and fabulous boat rides. Thank you, Yoey, for being such a wonderful friend, host, and inspiration. It was so great seeing your place and all the incredibly beautiful work you have put into it. It is a little slice of heaven. Thank you, Anna, for being such a fun, passionate, and thought-provoking friend and adventure buddy. I look forward to our next project. • Beautiful & Brilliant Bif.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Bif Naked up at the Prince Rupert rally. I had never seen her live before. She has a casual and intimate air about her that made it feel like she was playing for us in her living room. For someone that has had to face some major challenges in her life, it is apparent that she rolls with the punches and comes out smiling. I will definitely try to catch her show again.
