The exceedingly lovely Violet

When I arrived at this shoot I was feeling ill and little Violet had skipped her nap so there was concern that things may not run very smoothly. In the end, we both made it through and I am in love with the images that Violet created 😉 She was not her usual smiley self but she was content so the images that resulted have a neat introspective feel to them. Thank you once again, Violet, for making my day brighter. She has a habit of doing that. You can check out another day she made my day brighter here. Is she not the most precious beauty ever?

Here are a few magical moments from Stephanie & Brian’s wedding day. I cannot express in words the gratitude and warmth that I feel for this couple. Stephanie & Brian first met with me and subsequently hired me while I was still dealing with my inner ear issues and vertigo. I am a huge believer in encouraging kids to actively engage with the community that they are a part of.  From my experiences travelling in Asia with Ella I think our society has a lot to learn about bringing kids into the folds of community and supporting them in their growth to adulthood. So you can imagine my bliss and respect for Hey Ocean! when this amazing moment happened at Rifflandia. The video below the still is so precious 😉 Thank you, Hey Ocean! for being so incredibly awesome!

What a fun project this was! Look at all those fabulous faces. This was a spur of the moment, thrown together in a day project that I just love! Not only did I get to see all my favorite people while shooting them, now I can look at all their mugs anytime I want to make my day brighter. Thanks everyone!!

I loved making it and it was something that I could do while hanging out with my wee one (like many, the moment I became a mom I developed a compulsion to multitask). People kept making comments about how much they loved the cowls so I starting thinking about selling them. I wasn’t super happy with the yarn I was finding around town so I jumped at the chance…
