I met up with Stephanie & Blake at the Roundhouse a couple weeks ago for a wedding portrait session. It was evident right away that in marrying each other, they were marrying their best friend. Their serenity in each other’s company made photographing them a treat. Here’s to a lifetime of love and memories.
I had contacted Alice at the Base Lounge to see if I could rent their gorgeous space for a photo shoot. We worked out the details and Alice asked if I would photograph her family when I was done with the first shoot. Alice is lovely and radiates health and well-being. I was excited about the opportunity to meet and photograph her family. On the day, the natural light poured in and the family magic began 😉

Ani Difranco came to town and played a fantastic show on Wednesday. She is such a brilliant musician, but more than that, she is a brilliant woman. I’ve listened to her music for close to a decade now and she always manages to stay relevant. She’s a strong social and political activist who is not afraid to step out of the crowd to stand up for what she believes in. In 2010 Gene and I bought a share in a grain co-op that was being hosted by Makaria Farms just outside Duncan. We learned how to plant, grow and harvest grain. At the end of the season we were rewarded with harvests of organic Red Fife, Spring Wheat, and Rye. I first met Jen Steele when I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding and Jen was the photographer. It was the first time that I got to see another wedding photographer in action.
