I pulled an old Remington from my typewriter collection for this special session. Baby Nathan’s great-grandmother was a published poet and she always did her writing on a typewriter. Nathan’s mom has lots of memories of playing away and learning how to type at her grandmother’s. Sadly, while Nathan was still in his mama’s belly, his great-grandmother passed away. We thought this shoot would make a fitting tribute to her.
Thought everyone could do with a little bit of cuteness this morning. This family is close to my heart and it was such a joy to photograph them with their latest addition. The Daddy/Daughter photos always make my heart melt. Another thing I love? Baby leg pudge 😉
My trip to Bella Bella involved beautiful landscapes, good friends, small world run-ins, and fabulous boat rides. Thank you, Yoey, for being such a wonderful friend, host, and inspiration. It was so great seeing your place and all the incredibly beautiful work you have put into it. It is a little slice of heaven. Thank you, Anna, for being such a fun, passionate, and thought-provoking friend and adventure buddy. I look forward to our next project. This was a really fun and dear shoot for me. Brianna’s grandmother is an incredibly talented knitter and has made gorgeous sweaters for all the new arrivals in her and her daughters’ lives over the last many years. I was so touched to receive one when my Ella was born. Hand-made gifts are always the most precious and I think of the creators everytime I use them. When I heard that Brianna was on the way I asked if Mrs.Fathers would half knit a blanket so we could do a shoot around it and honour all that she has done…
Rifflandia has done it once again 😉 What an incredible week of awesome shows. I am continually blown away by what a brilliant idea this festival is. 150 some bands, four nights, and one wristband. All for the love of music. Thanks to the organizers for masterminding this extravaganza. This year, I was asked to put together a crew of official photographers so that there would be a photographer stationed at each of the 10 venues every night. I couldn’t of asked for a better team. Some women glow when they are pregnant. Calico beams. Although I have it on good authority that it is not just when she is pregnant. Calico is one of those people that have you grinning and laughing and loving life. You can’t help it. Her joy just rubs off. Her energy was such a treat to shoot. Another treat was the sweet sweet light that happened upon us as we climbed the hill. Thanks Calico for such a fun evening. I was pretty excited about heading down to Lucky bar to photograph Anti-Pop Consortium. I had heard lots of great stuff about them and their lyrics and sound are brilliant. The show was great but to be honest I was a little distracted by the fact that my camera loved them 😉 The first images are of TBA (Truth Becomes Audio) who opened for them. Props to them for giving 100% commitment to their performance.
