Tracy & Jonathon’s wedding was a stunning event held at the Olympic View Golf Course. The course gave the gift of incredible backdrops and we zipped down to Whitty’s Lagoon to get some ocean shots as well. First of all, I would like to give a big shout out to all parents of twins. You are an amazing bunch. I don’t know how you do it 😉 Humans have an incredible capacity to deal with whatever is thrown at them (in this case, two remarkably sweet and adorable little boys); but, being the mother of one, there are many days when I feel maxed and I could not even imagine the chaos². All you amazing Moms and Dads out there, give yourselves a pat on your back and a hug to your kids 😉
Here is a “quick” sneak peek of Theresa and Witek’s wedding on Pender Island. It was so hard to pick just a few as this was such a gorgeous and unique wedding. Not only were the bride and groom stunning but the setting was brilliant as well. Theresa’s family has been on Pender since the late 1800’s (I love that!). I was pretty excited about heading down to Lucky bar to photograph Anti-Pop Consortium. I had heard lots of great stuff about them and their lyrics and sound are brilliant. The show was great but to be honest I was a little distracted by the fact that my camera loved them 😉 The first images are of TBA (Truth Becomes Audio) who opened for them. Props to them for giving 100% commitment to their performance. Some women glow when they are pregnant. Calico beams. Although I have it on good authority that it is not just when she is pregnant. Calico is one of those people that have you grinning and laughing and loving life. You can’t help it. Her joy just rubs off. Her energy was such a treat to shoot. Another treat was the sweet sweet light that happened upon us as we climbed the hill. Thanks Calico for such a fun evening. I spent an incredible week on Salt Spring Island at a Mud Girls Cob Building Workshop. The Mud Girls are about promoting and enabling the construction of natural building (mostly cob) affordably. A group of about twenty of us came together to live as a community for a week and build a cob cabin. We all camped in a beautiful apple orchard, swam/bathed in the pond, and were treated to three delicious organic meals a day (the chefs were brilliant! mmmmm).
