One of my favorite moments at Rifflandia 2012

I am a huge believer in encouraging kids to actively engage with the community that they are a part of.  From my experiences travelling in Asia with Ella I think our society has a lot to learn about bringing kids into the folds of community and supporting them in their growth to adulthood. So you can imagine my bliss and respect for Hey Ocean! when this amazing moment happened at Rifflandia. The video below the still is so precious 😉 Thank you, Hey Ocean! for being so incredibly awesome!

    After last night’s incredible shows it was hard to imagine how tonight could keep up. I needn’t of worried. I started at the Alix Goolden Hall to catch Tegan and Sara.   • Pemberton Music Festival

    Wow. I am in love. Pemberton was the first camping music festival I’ve ever been to and it completely blew me away! So many great shows, such little time! With multiple stages running it was so hard to decide which of the incredible shows we were going to see. We ended up photographing and dancing to infinite talent and energy in the most gorgeous setting you could imagine.     Tracy & Jonathon’s wedding was a stunning event held at the Olympic View Golf Course. The course gave the gift of incredible backdrops and we zipped down to Whitty’s Lagoon to get some ocean shots as well.     Eric and Melissa got married at the stunning Bear Mountain Resort. Getting married on a golf course held extra significance for the couple as Eric is a pro golfer and the two met on a golf course 😉 The day went smooth as silk with tons of laughter and joy. They definitely win the best reception of the year award. Eric, Melissa and their wedding party surprised their guests with an AWESOME choreographed dance number.   • Sacred Mountain Lavender Farm

    On my way home from the cob building workshop on Salt Spring Island, Ella and I took a detour to Sacred Mountain Lavender Farm. Sadly, we were missing the lavender festival by two days but I thought we should still take the opportunity to go by the farm. It was soooooooo worth it. The lavender was GORGEOUS! Oh, the heavenly smell! The farm is a fabulous working demonstration farm where they encourage you to get in there and experience it.     When I was up in Prince Rupert for the rally, I spent Friday just wandering around. I came across Lyle Campbell’s carving studio and went in to check out his amazing work. I love spending time with artists and witnessing the process of creation. Lyle’s fiance Kim was there as well, painting.
