Family fun in Goldstream

One of my favorite parts of my job is getting to document the evolution of families. It wasn’t something I thought about when I was starting out but now that I have had clients come back to me year after year, I really cherish the times I get to catch up with them and see how beautifully their families have grown. This family is no exception. My last shoot with them was at Beacon Hill park last year. You can check out the images from that shoot here. This year we hung out and played at Goldstream. Ahhhh, Goldstream in the fall. I sure do love that place.

  • The inner ear and a big timeout.

The last two months have been such an incredibly wonderful and horrid journey. On May.3rd, I woke up in the middle of the night and the world was spinning (imagine drunk spins but times it by a thousand). Honestly, I thought I was dying from a brain aneurysm. It felt that wrong. I couldn’t stop throwing up. I called my parents to take me to the hospital so Gene could stay home with Ella. When we got to the hospital, the doctor said it was an inner-ear infection and, since it was viral, I just had to wait it out….

  • Morning at the Track.

I was in Vancouver on Tuesday and thought I’d stop by the track to say hi to a friend and to get some shots of the horses as training begins.  Some of the horses were pretty wild getting back out there!  I can’t wait to go back in April when the races start. So much fun!  I really miss working with horses. It was nice to be around them again, even if it was watching them from afar 😉

  • Rifflandia- Day 2

After last night’s incredible shows it was hard to imagine how tonight could keep up. I needn’t of worried. I started at the Alix Goolden Hall to catch Tegan and Sara. I have heard a lot of their music played on the Zone but I haven’t been following them beyond that. Their set tonight sure convinced me to pay a little more attention in the future. They were brilliant to see live as their stage banter was just as entertaining as their music. Sibling rivalry and quick wit had the audience roaring with laughter pretty much the whole time they…

  • My Darling Nephew

So I finally got to meet my darling nephew! My brother, his wife and their 7 month old son Graden live in Singapore which means that their current visit home to Canada marks my first introduction to the CUTEST little boy in the world. He looks like cabbage patch kid. If you don’t believe me…check it out:

  • Second shooting for the phenomenal Jen Steele.

I first met Jen Steele when I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding and Jen was the photographer. It was the first time that I got to see another wedding photographer in action. Jen was awesome and my friend was thrilled with the images that she captured of her wedding. I got a call recently from Jen because her regular second shooter had hurt his hand and she needed someone to fill in for one of her weddings. It was my first experience second shooting and I have to say it was pretty fun to step back and work…
