Lynne and Brendan had a romantic evening wedding at Hatley Castle. There is something so timeless and magical about getting married in a castle! The day was full of laughter and good tears. All the best, L&B and thanks for having us a part of your wedding day!
A large anti-Enbridge rally against the Northern Gateway Pipeline happened in Victoria last Sunday. Hundreds turned out to the Legislature lawns before taking to the streets to march to Centennial Square. Once at the square, there was an afternoon full of workshops and panel discussions related to the environment, the energy sector, and effective ways to get involved in the debate. Amanda & Brian got married in a gorgeous ceremony in Hawaii. Not everyone could make the trip down though so they also wanted to throw a reception party in Victoria. That’s when I got a call from Amanda. Because this fabulous couple live in Ohio we didn’t get a chance to meet until the day of the party. While this situation sometimes makes me nervous as I prefer getting to know each other beforehand, I was amazed upon meeting these two that it felt like we had been friends for years. Thought everyone could do with a little bit of cuteness this morning. This family is close to my heart and it was such a joy to photograph them with their latest addition. The Daddy/Daughter photos always make my heart melt. Another thing I love? Baby leg pudge 😉
Some women glow when they are pregnant. Calico beams. Although I have it on good authority that it is not just when she is pregnant. Calico is one of those people that have you grinning and laughing and loving life. You can’t help it. Her joy just rubs off. Her energy was such a treat to shoot. Another treat was the sweet sweet light that happened upon us as we climbed the hill. Thanks Calico for such a fun evening. I am so excited about the shoot part deux when your little bambino arrives. xoxo
I first met Jen Steele when I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding and Jen was the photographer. It was the first time that I got to see another wedding photographer in action. Jen was awesome and my friend was thrilled with the images that she captured of her wedding. I got a call recently from Jen because her regular second shooter had hurt his hand and she needed someone to fill in for one of her weddings. It was my first experience second shooting and I have to say it was pretty fun to step back and work…
