The inner ear and a big timeout.
The last two months have been such an incredibly wonderful and horrid journey. On May.3rd, I woke up in the middle of the night and the world was spinning (imagine drunk spins but times it by a thousand). Honestly, I thought I was dying from a brain aneurysm. Haida Carver – Lyle Campbell
When I was up in Prince Rupert for the rally, I spent Friday just wandering around. I came across Lyle Campbell’s carving studio and went in to check out his amazing work. I love spending time with artists and witnessing the process of creation. Lyle’s fiance Kim was there as well, painting. Growing Grain on Vancouver Island
In 2010 Gene and I bought a share in a grain co-op that was being hosted by Makaria Farms just outside Duncan. We learned how to plant, grow and harvest grain. At the end of the season we were rewarded with harvests of organic Red Fife, Spring Wheat, and Rye. True Grain Bread, the fabulous organic bakery in Cowichan Bay was kind enough to let us use their gorgeous stone grain mill to grind our grain into flour. DJ Champion
Last night in Vic, DJ Champion and his G-Strings took the stage at Sugar. It is impossible for my words to do justice to the killer performance they gave. If they ever stop in your town, GO SEE THEM! They are what live shows are all about. The incredible energy they brought to the stage was infectious and the packed crowd couldn’t get enough. DJ Champion does fabulous builds that take you from a toe tappin’ head bob to a thumping, jumping, super-happy dance. You can’t help it. It just happens. The exceedingly lovely Violet
When I arrived at this shoot I was feeling ill and little Violet had skipped her nap so there was concern that things may not run very smoothly. In the end, we both made it through and I am in love with the images that Violet created 😉 She was not her usual smiley self but she was content so the images that resulted have a neat introspective feel to them.
