  • Pender Island Wedding

Here is a “quick” sneak peek of Theresa and Witek’s wedding on Pender Island. It was so hard to pick just a few as this was such a gorgeous and unique wedding. Not only were the bride and groom stunning but the setting was brilliant as well. Theresa’s family has been on Pender since the late 1800’s (I love that!). Her father used to fly Theresa in his airplane and land on the private airfield seen in some of the photos below. I loved that the backdrop of their wedding had such personal history and meaning to them. Theresa &…

  • Metric

I want to start with a great big thanks to Atomique for putting on such great shows and making the Victoria music scene what it is. I went down to the Save-On Foods Memorial Centre last night to photograph the Metric show. It was great to finally see them live (well, the first three songs anyway). The difference between shooting musicians in the dawn of their career and those that are really well known is access (obviously). I adore shooting the smaller gigs as you have a lot of freedom to roam, time to get into the groove and, in…

  • Fibre Fest – Victoria, BC – Keri Coles Photography

As some of you know, I have happened into a whole bunch of yarn. By bunch, I mean POUNDS. It all began innocently enough when I made a cowl last winter. I loved making it and it was something that I could do while hanging out with my wee one (like many, the moment I became a mom I developed a compulsion to multitask). People kept making comments about how much they loved the cowls so I starting thinking about selling them. I wasn’t super happy with the yarn I was finding around town so I jumped at the chance…

  • Headshots with Lizzy

I love doing headshot portraits outside in natural light. I find the variety in backgrounds is far more interesting than what I have in the studio. All of these images were created within a one block radius but result in lots of different options to choose from.

  • Good Looking Bunch

Here are some highlights from a shoot in Beacon Hill Park last weekend. The cherry blossoms and daffodils are out in full force. Sometimes I feel like I’m cheating by being a photographer in Victoria where the natural beauty abounds 😉 Speaking of beauty, check out these folks…

  • Beloved Japan.

Gene and I took Ella to Asia when she was 3.5 months old. I will forever be grateful for the experiences we had there, especially as new parents navigating the waters of “how to be a good parent”. Being immersed in other cultures while we were raw and evolving in our new roles was such a gift. We got to witness over and over again that a “norm” is culturally based and not static, which gave us the courage to challenge assumptions and norms from back home. The biggest one of these for me was integrated community. Everywhere we travelled,…
