  • It runs in the family.

    I had a shoot last year around this time with Dr.S the dentist who worked it for the camera (he definitley picked up some tips from Tyra when his daughter was watching ANTM).  Some people just have that camera zen, that ease with themselves that makes for spectacular images. I can vouch that this family has that quality in at least two of its generations. Dean gave his daughter Taryl a gift certficate for a portrait session and here is how the gorgeous girl rocked it:

    I recently photographed Rob Kettner of Fernwood Coffee doing his magic. He was fine-tuning his skills and delivery for the Canadian Barista Championship. Just after I did the shoot he went on to win said competition 😉 Way to go, Rob!!! Click image below to view a slideshow of his winning routine.     I met up with Stephanie & Blake at the Roundhouse a couple weeks ago for a wedding portrait session. It was evident right away that in marrying each other, they were marrying their best friend. Their serenity in each other’s company made photographing them a treat. Here’s to a lifetime of love and memories.

    Human Rights Activist Nontombi Naomi Tutu came to Victoria recently to discuss “us and them: how we construct the ‘other’”. She is an amazing woman and a powerful speaker. I had the opportunity to present her with a photograph that I took of her father Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama when they were part of a roundtable dialogue at UBC in 2004.

    My good friend Erin came by with her two kids as well as her sister’s two girls to get some photos for Christmas. What a gorgeous group they are! There is never a dull moment when you are photographing a few children together! Sometimes the best solution is to just let them play and have fun! Did I mention I love kids 😉 Great seeing you Erin!!
