    I went down and photographed Jon & Roy’s CD Release Party show for their new album “Homes“. The MacPherson Playhouse was packed and the show rocked the house.     Last night in Vic, DJ Champion and his G-Strings took the stage at Sugar. It is impossible for my words to do justice to the killer performance they gave. If they ever stop in your town, GO SEE THEM! They are what live shows are all about. The incredible energy they brought to the stage was infectious and the packed crowd couldn’t get enough.     Amanda & Brian got married in a gorgeous ceremony in Hawaii. Not everyone could make the trip down though so they also wanted to throw a reception party in Victoria. That’s when I got a call from Amanda. Because this fabulous couple live in Ohio we didn’t get a chance to meet until the day of the party. While this situation sometimes makes me nervous as I prefer  getting to know each other beforehand, I was amazed upon meeting these two that it felt like we had been friends for years.     It was a fabulous weekend at Organic Islands Festival. There are always lots of great vendors that support and inspire sustainability. The reason I love the festival the most is the incredible speakers that come to share their wealth of knowledge. Percy Schmeiser was the highlight for me at the Festival in 2008.  His story is one to know. He is fighting a battle on our behalf.     Ani Difranco came to town and played a fantastic show on Wednesday. She is such a brilliant musician, but more than that, she is a brilliant woman. I’ve listened to her music for close to a decade now and she always manages to stay relevant. She’s a strong social and political activist who is not afraid to step out of the crowd to stand up for what she believes in.     I was pretty excited about heading down to Lucky bar to photograph Anti-Pop Consortium. I had heard lots of great stuff about them and their lyrics and sound are brilliant. The show was great but to be honest I was a little distracted by the fact that my camera loved them 😉 The first images are of TBA (Truth Becomes Audio) who opened for them. Props to them for giving 100% commitment to their performance.
